Vercel AI Gateway is a unified API product that provides access to hundreds of AI models from major providers — including OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, xAI, and others — through a single endpoint, eliminating the need to manage separate API keys, rate limits, or provider accounts. Built on AI SDK 5, it offers features such as automatic failover, load balancing, spend monitoring, and support for tool calling, streaming, and structured outputs. Originally launched in alpha in May 2025 and now generally available, it has been battle-tested at scale powering Vercel's own v0.app for millions of users.
