Researchers demonstrated that spin qubits hosted in bulk-manufactured quantum dots can be moved between quantum dots without losing quantum information. The ability to move qubits around could enable the type of flexible qubit-to-qubit connectivity previously available only with atomic and ionic systems. Multiple companies including Intel are pursuing quantum dot technology as a potential advancement in quantum computing architecture.
