South Korea announced a massive government-backed investment plan totaling $1 trillion across three pillars: semiconductors, AI data centers, and physical AI robotics, to position the country as a leader in the AI era. Samsung and SK Hynix will invest $518 billion to build four new memory chip fabrication plants in South Korea's southwestern region. The country aims to increase its share of the global humanoid robot market from 1 percent to 20 percent over the long term.
