A federal judge in Massachusetts struck down several Trump administration actions slowing down clean energy development, including a requirement that all solar and wind projects on federal lands and waters be personally approved by Interior Secretary Doug Burgum. Chief Judge Denise J. Casper ruled that renewable energy plaintiffs were likely to succeed in showing the administration's actions violate federal statute and issued a preliminary injunction to block implementation. The ruling represents the latest in a series of judicial rebukes to the Trump administration's efforts to block federal wind energy approvals.
