NASA's Artemis II mission took four astronauts on a 10-day lunar flyby in April 2026, marking the first crewed lunar mission in over 50 years. During the mission, the crew documented the Moon's topography along the terminator where astronauts are scheduled to land in 2028, gathering data that will advance future lunar landing operations. Following the successful mission, NASA is now preparing for Artemis III, which will test integrated operations with commercially built Moon landers in low Earth orbit.
