DoorDash deploys a Bedrock voice agent for Dasher support
DoorDash and AWS describe a live Bedrock-backed voice agent for Dasher support, reporting hundreds of thousands of calls daily.
DoorDash's voice self-service support
In an AWS engineering post co-written with DoorDash staff, DoorDash describes building and deploying a voice self-service assistant for Dashers with Amazon Lex, Amazon Bedrock, and Bedrock Knowledge Bases. The post says the system answers hundreds of thousands of calls per day with responses in 2.5 seconds or less, using a retrieval-augmented knowledge base to answer common support questions.
AWS and DoorDash say they built the solution in about two months and reduced the need for live-agent assistance. The post does not give a controlled before/after figure for escalations or an independently measured customer-satisfaction change. A separate AWS case study describes Anthropic Claude 3 Haiku in the solution; the quantified 49% transfer reduction and 12% first-contact improvement discussed there relate to DoorDash's earlier Lex/Connect IVR, not a causal result of the new generative-AI assistant.
